ALFIE IN REHAB
Alfie our office dog returned from his activity holiday in Cornwall four weeks ago, unfortunately slipping his disc in his neck whilst having a cool down swim in Hackney. He endured a three hour operation and a four day hospital stay and it was touch and go if he would ever walk again . The good news is that due to a strict rehabilitation process (a cage) the Alf is no longer walking like a puppet on a string and has gained nearly all his movement back. Time will tell, but at this stage there has been a huge sigh of relief from the HP office and his pals. For those that have met him, his personality has not been affected and he still makes no effort except with the choice few and is still as lovely and superior as ever. Get well soon Alfie x

TEMPS RETURN FROM CANNES
We would like to say a huge THANK YOU to our team of 65 temps who represented us so well at the International Advertising Festival: Cannes Lions Awards.
The contract requires us to place candidates as creative entry processors, data entry people, receptionists, proofreaders and delegate administrators. Our candidates required media/ creative experience through work or education, proven administration experience and language skills. This can be an incredibly demanding role as the Cannes Lions team work to high standards, tight deadlines and will expect the best! This year 37 temps were chosen to fly to Cannes for approx. two weeks to help work on the festival. This is our 8th year working with Cannes Lions and as always it has been an absolute pleasure - they have a great team and we are proud that our temps have been chosen to be part of such a high profile creative event.
NEW CODE OF PRACTICE LAUNCHED
Harrison Pursey help lead the way with a new code of practice launched by the REC (Recruitment and Employment Confederation) for the Marketing, Media and Communications sector, to help and advise candidates, clients and recruitment agencies.
The aim of the code is to set a standard that professional recruitment agencies will aspire to reach and to help stamp out unethical practice and behaviour in the recruitment industry.
There are three parts to the code; one is a Code of Practice for recruitment agencies and the other two are intended as guidance for clients and candidates. Harrison Pursey was one of a small group of agencies involved in the formation and development of the codes. ‘We fully support any initiative that will help to raise standards and endorse the agencies that work to high professional standards. The new codes will give candidates and clients confidence that they can expect a high standard of conduct and service if they choose an MMC member agency’ says Barbara Harrison.
If you would like a copy of either the client or candidate guidelines, please email Barbara at barbarah@harrisonpursey.co.uk
For more information on the REC, please go to www.rec.co.uk
